An Underlooked tip for Creativity and Solving Problems
Let’s get straight to the tip: it’s making time and space to relax your body and empty your mind!
When we’re stressed and anxious we tend to overthink and our body gets tense. The thoughts and feelings loop together and this blocks out new possibilities and solutions from coming into awareness.
As Confucious said, a bowl is most useful when it is empty, this is also true for getting creative with your mind.
Take the mind as being like a sheet of paper, when it is blank, the possibilities on it are endless. But if the paper already has forms or even scribbles on it, then that narrows the scope of what is possible.
‘aha’ and ‘eureka’ moments tend to strike us like a bolt of lightning, and they are more likely to happen when we are still and relaxed.
In this space of relaxation, you can ask a question, and let creative solutions emerge.
This isn’t the only way, another way to jump out of thought-feeling loops is by doing something new or going somewhere new.
Are there any other tips you can think of? Creativity is a unique process for each of us, so don’t be afraid to find your own way to be creative as your own embodiment of creativity itself!
